From the Pages of Mindfulness Brings Clarity:

"Our minds and bodies are connected in ways only self-awareness can show. We need that self-awareness to guide us through a healing journey to reconnect with ourselves. Being aware is the first step of the process, not the end. Sometimes, it is easy to believe that “there’s something wrong with me” and there’s no help to fix you. But there is! The interconnectedness of our bodies and minds and awareness of our mental health can heal us as fast as we can get drunk. We are not broken forever. We just need mindfulness."

The "Pain Body":

"There is a thin covering over our muscles called the fascia; this is where our traumas are stored. Eckart Tolle described the trauma as the “pain body.” It is essentially a physical, emotional, or mental pain that gets trapped in our bodies. A lot of these traumas can manifest as physical pain in the body, thus "pain body"."

A Personal Note from Megan

"This book is a culmination of years of lived experience, both personally and professionally. I’ve always felt it was my destiny to go into mental health and provide a safe space for others that I didn’t have myself.

I also want to break my own generational curses, since mental illness runs in my family.

I’ve had symptoms of anxiety and depression for as long as I can remember. In my adulthood, symptoms of ADHD started to occur. After going no contact with a parent, I was faced with years of unprocessed trauma that led me to my first therapist, who introduced me to mindfulness and meditation and I was changed forever.

Mindfulness can be applied to anything. The phrase 'it takes a village' can be applied to healing as well. Your village can be many people, or it can be many tools. Mindfulness is an entire toolbox for managing a plethora of mental health symptoms. This book is a great primer for why mental health is so important, why trauma is such a thing in our society, and what we can do about our own trauma. (Hint: it starts with mindfulness!)

My story is just one of many out there that have benefited from this beautiful technique. My hope is that these ideas can be more mainstream and be taught and made accessible to everybody."

How meditation promotes healing:

"There is a thin covering over our muscles called the fascia; this is where our traumas are stored. Eckart Tolle described the trauma as the “pain body.” It is essentially a physical, emotional, or mental pain that gets trapped in our bodies. A lot of these traumas can manifest as physical pain in the body, thus "pain body"."
